Cry Baby Barber Shop is a Southport barbershop up in Chirn Park, at the quieter northern end of the suburb. The parking is free, the coffee next door is good and your barber is expecting you. Nick and Jess have owned and run the shop since 2013, and it holds a 5.0 Google rating with seven industry awards on the shelf.
SKIP THE CBD QUEUES
Southport has plenty of barbers, but most of them come with paid parking, timed spots and a wait you can't predict. We do it differently. You book online through Fresha, pick your barber and your time, park for free on Musgrave Ave right outside, and sit down when you said you would. A proper cut on your lunch break is realistic here.

GETTING HERE FROM THE CBD
From Australia Fair or Queen Street it's about five minutes. Head north on Brisbane Road, or take the scenic route along the Broadwater, then turn onto Musgrave Ave. We're in the middle of the Chirn Park shopping strip. Look for the crying baby. If you're coming from Southport Park, Keebra Park or the hospital end, you're closer still.
WHAT YOU'RE SITTING DOWN FOR
Every barber here covers the lot: style cuts, zero and skin fades, beard shaping and old school wet cutthroat shaves. Every single cut finishes with a hot towel and a neck shave. Kids are welcome, school cuts are priced like school cuts, and pensioner cuts run Monday to Thursday. Check the full price list below or the gallery if you want to see the work before you commit.
- Online booking with your choice of barber.
- Free street parking on Musgrave Ave, every day of the week.
- Open seven days, from 8am.
- Hot towel finish and neck shave with every cut, always included.
THE NORTHERN END IS THE BETTER END
Chirn Park still feels like the old Southport. Independent shops, familiar faces, and a barbershop that remembers your usual by the second visit. If that sounds like your kind of place, grab a chair. We're open seven days, and Sunday morning is a quiet time for a cut.
